Blendings at The Preserve is located in the countryside northwest of Fort Collins, Colorado. Nearby sits Bingham Hill Park, Lory State Park, Horsetooth Reservoir, Rist Canyon, the Cache La Poudre River and other popular outdoor destinations. The quaint communities of Laporte and Bellevue are just up the road.
After an interesting early history of owners, the land on which Blendings sits was purchased by The Pope Family in 1965. You can imagine it was quite a different setting then, but the hayfields tucked against the foothills with the Cache la Poudre River passing to the northeast was a little piece of heaven where the family raised hay and cattle and enjoyed all the land had to offer.
Randy and Sheryl Pope personally developed the land on which Blendings sits. The winery sits just south of The Preserve at Bingham Hill, a popular wedding and event venue. Locals and tourists alike enjoy the feeling that they are "out in the country," even though they are only 10 minutes from downtown Fort Collins. A small vineyard of grapes and hedges of Aronia are currently planted on the property, with more grapes to be planted this summer. Both fruits will be utilized to make wine at such time the plants yield fruit.
Blendings at The Preserve provides customers a unique opportunity to experience high quality wines that have been produced by established wineries throughout the United States. With help from our Winemaker, a customer gets the opportunity for 2 hours to personally micro-blend, bottle, and label with their own personally designed label, their own blend of wine that is unique to their palate. The experience is intended to be a "hands on" learning opportunity for customers to have fun with friends and family while indulging in their passion for wine produced in various parts of the country.
